Multibody Dynamics Analysis
Engine multi-body dynamics is a computational method used to simulate and analyze the dynamic behavior of internal combustion engines and their components. It allows engineers to study the interactions between various moving parts within the engine, such as pistons, connecting rods, crankshafts, valves, and camshafts, as well as the effects of forces, torques, and inertia on the overall engine performance.
Detailed multi-body dynamics model is developed in MSC. Adams, Altair MotionView, or similar environment. At Caliber Tech, we are software agnostic.


Thermal Analysis
Engine piston thermal analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a crucial aspect of engine design and optimization. Based on the results of the thermal analysis, design modifications may be proposed to improve the thermal performance of the piston. This could involve changes to the material composition, geometry, cooling features, or surface coatings.
The effect of thermal analysis results in varying clearance between the piston skirt surface and cylinder liner. The effect of thermal analysis is further accounted for in the multi-body dynamics and structural analysis.
