Senior Vehicle CFD Engineer
This position will be responsible for performing CFD simulations to develop and optimize the full vehicle aerodynamics. The Engineer will support analysis activities throughout the product development lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work on some of the exciting products.
Responsibilities
- The Senior CFD Engineer will be working with CFD tools to lead and guide the design.
- This Senior Engineer will be responsible for assessing the performance of full vehicle aerodynamics using STAR CCM+. This candidate is using pre-processing tools like ANSA/HYPERMESH including fundamentals of morphing to create and debug the full vehicle model.
- This senior engineer will post-process the simulation results to verify the aerodynamic behavior of the current full vehicle model and to find a solution for improving the results toward achieving the target too.
- This senior engineer can find the optimized solution by performing several CFD simulation iterations.
- The Senior CFD Engineer is involved in full vehicle wind tunnel testing too, and they will correlate the CFD results with the test data.
- The Senior CFD Engineer is responsible for applying advanced methods like DOE/DFSS to optimize the design.
- This senior engineer will create reports to present the results of the simulations and the achieved improvements. They will communicate with the design team, manufacturing team, and suppliers to achieve the desired aerodynamics vehicle performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.
- Master’s degree or PHD is preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in Aerodynamic CFD simulations for automotive industry
- Experience with using STAR CCM+, ANSA and HYPERWORKS
- Experience with performing steady state and transient CDF analysis
- Experience with morphing the models using ANSA or HYPERMESH
- Experience with correlation of CFD and Test results
